Category: Day Trips, Events – Bob Stovall – Wednesday, July 30th, 2008 at 7:50 am

127 Yard Sale logoThe world’s longest yard sale at over 600 miles, stretching from Defiance, Ohio to Gadsden, Alabama. This year’s Yard Sale will Thursday, August 7th through Sunday, August 10th.

It’s impossible to keep track of how many shoppers and vendors the sale attracts, but it’s grown to be the biggest and best event of its kind in the world. You’ll find homeowners selling stuff they’ve accumulated throughout the years as well as professional dealers and vendors. It’s almost impossible for shoppers to cover the entire route in four days, so be prepared to pick up where you leave off next year! You’re going to discover some neat places, interesting people, and quaint stops that you’ll probably want to visit again and again. So pack your camera, sunglasses, a good pair of walking shoes, and plenty of cash – you’re in for the World’s Longest Yardsale!

For more information on the 127 Yard Sale, see the official website. Download the official brochure, plan your route and join us for four fun filled days of fun and adventure. We’re sure that once you get a taste of the world’s biggest Yard Sale, you’ll be back for more.

Read more about Boyle County’s portion of the sale at the Sights & Sounds of Danville and Perryville, Kentucky website. Hotel accommodations can be hard to come by at many 127 Yard Sale Destinations, so be prepared to stay several miles off of U.S. 127.

For those of you who plan ahead, the 2009 127 Yard Sale is scheduled for August 6-9, 2009.
