Judge-Executives to announce county endowment programs led by Wilderness Trace Community Foundation
DANVILLE, Ky. – A press conference will be held by the Wilderness Trace Community Foundation and Judge-Executives from Boyle, Garrard, Lincoln, and Mercer counties 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, in the Board Room at Centre College’s Norton Center for the Arts to announce an unprecedented new initiative that will promote endowments for each of the counties represented.
Those present will include:
- Judge-Executive Harold McKinney from Boyle County
- Judge-Executive John Wilson of Garrard County
- Judge-Executive Jim Adams from Lincoln County
- Judge-Executive Milward Dedman from Mercer County
- Members of the Wilderness Trace Community Foundation Board
- Superintendents from school districts throughout the four counties
- Norton Center Executive Director Steve Hoffman
These representatives will speak about the need for county endowments in our community; plans for a 20 percent tax credit opportunity for donors who contribute to the endowments; provide an overview of the Wilderness Trace Community Foundation’s work since its founding in 2002; and outline a new service project, Norton Center A.C.T.S. (Arts for the Classroom Ticket Subsidy), which has been made possible by the establishment of county endowments and community philanthropy.
